Maxcy Gregg, urging hin to take command of the Sixth Regiment- in the Interval between the resigniation of Colonel Rion and the appointment of Col. C. S. Winder. in commenting on the letter Major Woodward told many iheidents gonnectcd w-ith the early history of the Regiment, of which we had not before been inform ed. In fact, they were new to all privates, and of so much interest that on motion of Captain Gaillard, Major Woodward was requested to prepare a statement in writing of the facts narrated by him, to be presented at the Reunion. at Chester on the first Thurs day in August iext. On motion, the Association adjourn ed from labor to refreshments, after a short time spent in social intercourse.
