THE CIncUIT COURT.--Sinco ou last report, the following busines has been transacted : State vs. Gabe Chisoln, Urial Chisolm and Gaines Jordan, indicte< for burglary and larceny. Th< jury in this case came into court after an absence of about five hours and the foreman anrounced tha there was no possibility of ai agrceement. The jury was thei discharged, and a mistrial ordered The obstinacy of the colored jurors or some of them, was quite a outrageous in this case as in th arson case before mentioned. A to two of the defendants ther might be some room for an hones difference of opinion, but as to th third, Gaines Jordan, there coul< be none. He had freely confosso< his crime, and, in addition, ther, was strong proof of his guilt Bu the negroes on the jury, or som, of them, shut their eyes to tlh truth, and refused to come to verdict. State vs. Daniel Allen, indicte< for burglary. This defendant wa charged with having broken inti the cotton house of the prosecutoi a colored man, in December lart anj stolen therefrom about on hundred pounds of seed cotton Mr. Reynolds appeared for th defence. Verdict-Guilty. On Saturday the prisoners con victed during the term wer brought into court, and the follow ing sentences imposed: Robert Johnson and Willian Smith, convicted of petit larceny imprisonment for thirty days eaci in the county jail. Rose Boulware, convicted of re ceiving stolen goods-imprisonmen for thirty days in the county jail. Lige Robertson, convicted o burglary-five years, at hard labor in the penitentiary. Reuben Sims, convicted of arson ten years, at hard labor, in the peni tentiary. Charles Whitu, convicted of grani lareeny--four years, at hard labor, ii the penitentiary. Washington Davis, coivietel o grand larceny--one year, at hiart labor, in the penitentiary. Daniel Allen, convicted of bur glary-three years, at hard labor, ii the penitentiary. The Court of General Sessions was then formally adjourned, and the Court of Common Pieas wai opened. After some business of nc general interest, the court adjourned till Monday morning.
