C., on the 26th inst., and the International Convention at Louisville, Ky.___ A WHoLEsOME ExAMPLE.-Aleck Patterson, colored, was taken before Trial Justice Mackey on Wednesday the 17th inst., on the charge of using profane and indecent lan guage on the streets. lHe pleaded guilty to the charge, and was sen tenced to a fine of five dollars, in cluding costs, or imprisonment for five days. He preferred to pay the fine. It is to be hoped that this case will serve as an example to those-and we regret to say that they are not few-who indulge in indecenN~)4jiud4.ins tAA~hublic streets. The practice has become not uncommon of late, and it should be put down at any cost.
