At a recent meeting of the Maids and Matrons Club, Dr. Henry Snyder, Mr. Jones has become identified with some of our most important in stitutions, being a director of the Na tional Bank, a director of the Globe Mill and a director of the Gaffney Land and Trust Company. It is a fact not generally known that Mr. Jones was the first man to start a subscription list for the Gaffney Manufacturing Company, the first cotton mill to be erected in our city. He was a director in this enterprise for several years after it became one of the largest cotton mills in this sec tion.
