All the streams are full to overflowing. I am inclined to think the election this year, was a “sure enough” wet election. We fear that many bridges and other such things have been made insecure by the torrential rains of the last few days. A light rain, wind and hail storm passed over this section on Tuesday evening. r It seems to us that we have had warmer weather this month than we can remember of ever having in Au gust before. Now, if the sun is losing its heat, as some believe it Is doing, It must be losing it rather rapidly, to judge from the way in which it Is shinjhg out over the earth at this time. But nevertheless, I love the warm sunny days, and wish it were possible for them to remain with us always. To those who labor in the field, the sun no doubt does seem to shine very hot, indeed, the rays of the sun always beat down on the heads of weary travelers and labor ers without mercy. But who would have summer-time withbut all of Its beauties and pleasures? It takes warm sunshine and bright skies, bal my breezes and refreshing showers, sweet smelling* flowers and singing birds, to make a real Southern sum* mer. This, however, Is a digression from my main purpose. There are certainly sentiments which I desire to express here, to wit: I love to flatter myself that mine is a strange, poetic, restless, sentimen tal and dreamy nature. I love to sit and “dream” over what I have either gentleman’s farm, for Instance, a part of his farm has been well watered, to be a fact the director of public while some of It has had hardly any and j he 8tttte road ,,, a . , _ builders and overseers will get a great- rat,,."
