Bitten By a Dog.
Last Wednesday morning a setter
dog belonging to Mr. W. R. Lipscomb
was santering along Limestone
street in front of Holmes & Jones’
store paying heed to no one when
along came a bull dog who took ex
ception to the haughty mein of the
setter and proceeded to take the con
ceit out of him by giving him a lick
ing. Lucius Randall, who is as ten
derhearted as he is big, felt sorry for
the setter and attempted to take his
part by grabbing the bull dog by the
collar and choking him off the setter.
The setter was either very much ex
cited or a most ungrateful cur, as he
lost no time in lacerating Mr. Ran
dall’s left hand with his teeth. The
wounds was cauterized at once by
Dr. Pittman and no evil effect are an
ticipated. Lucius vows that he will
know better than to take part in an
other dog fight, even if he has a long
ing to help the tinder dog.
