At the Theatre. “Two Jolly Tramps” was the bill last night at the Star Theatre, and the Kennedy Players gave a good sized audience a flue performance of the play. John J. Kennedy is inimi table in the comedy role and never fails to keep his audience in a good humor. Miss Nellie Kennedy is pret ty and acts with a fascinating charm. The costumes last evening were ex quisitely beautiful and produced the most favorable comments. All of the company are strong In their parts and give a pleasing go to every play they put on. The Kennedys are supported by Jas. N. Machan, Royal C. Stout, Jas. F. Bannister, James K. Corbet, Tien Lewis, Leonore Hassen and Win- nifred Greenwood. The specialtes are exceptionally good. Baby Rossie Machan is a won der as a child actress. And little Dot Kennedy, seven years old, is about the cutest thing you ever saw on the stage for manners, volume in voice and good singing. Tonight they play “The Midnight Express.” Concernin “The Midnight Express the Rocky Mountain News, Denver, Col., says: The "Broadway,” that house of big openers had a record-breaking crowd last night for the “Midnight Express which was presented for the first time to a Denver audience, and “it made good;” the audience said so, and they said it in a manner that leaves no room for doubt. They screamed their approval, they shook the building with their indorsment, and when the curtain descended on the last act of the play with the audience on its feet for the great railroad climax, a person would certainly be blessed with poor discernment who differed from the judgment pronounced so vociforously by last night’s audience.
