C., will vote on the ques tion of the issuing of bonds for the; Appalachian Inter-Urban Railway Co. This is the proposed electric road from Asheville to Gaffney, and if thej three townships which vote today go In favor of the bonds the railroad is almost a certainty. • • • The carnival has come and gone, court is over, and Gaffney is about to settle down to the even tenor of her way. It's good enough to have a lit tle amusement and some justice, but after all we are glad that the stren- uousness of city life has departed and we are again permitted to take on our village ways. a • • The Cherokee News was eminently correct in condemning at least two of the attractions of the Barkoot car nival, which was here last week. The Oriental theatre and the Art exhibi tion were vulgar and indecent, but we do not believe Mayor Gaffney and his associates should have been crit icised on account of this exhibition as they had no means of knowing what kind of a show it was until they had given permission for it to appear.
