Annual Meeting of Stockholders of
the Gaffney Mfq Co.
The annual meeting of the stock
holders of the Gaffney Manufacturing
company was held Thursday in their
office in this city. Quite a number of
the stockholders were present, and
some of those who could not
attend were represented by proxy.
The report of the new presi
dent, T. E. Moore, was submitted, and
it was very satisfactory to the stock
holders, as it showed the affairs of the
mill to he in a prosperous condition.
A few small changes were made in the
by-laws of the company, and the fol
lowing motions were passed:
“That the board of directors be
elected at the regular meeting of the
stockholders for one year, instead of
for two years, as heretofore: and also,
that the term of the office of secretary
be made one year instead of two
years.” The following directors were
then elected under the revised by
laws: T. E. Moore, J. B. Cleveland,
J. A. Carroll, A. N. Wood, O. G. Falls,
W. C. Hamrick, T. M .Littlejohn, J.
Q. Little. L. G. Potter.
After the stockholders’ meeting ad
journed. a meeting of the directors
was held. At the latter meeting the
resignation of Mr. W. M. Webster, as
secretary, was presented, and accept
ed, and Mr. L. G. Potter, of Gastonia,
N. C.. was elected in his place for the
ensuing year. Mr. Webster has been
a valuable man to the company, and
a vote of thanks was tendered him for
the efficient services he lias rendered.
Mr. Potter will enter upon the duties
of his office at once.
AND COST SALES
Are becoming very common, and are often resorted to to
runoff plugs, hard stock and old accumulations. THE BATTERY
does not have to resort to such methods, as we sell goods too
fast for such accumulations to accumulate.
