In the name of humanity what is everyone take ‘out an injunction against Mr. j j n g]y voted out. They have received Jenkins restraining him from carrying a reply, in which Mr. Steadman en- out his purpose until the legislature meet, then ask that body to make an iron clad law to protect us. Who is the citizen of that neighborhood to do this? If this be not the plan, will not some one suggest some means by which we can make this man respect the will of the people? Who is re sponsible for this state of affairs? Certainly not the people of Cherokee. • • • The Spartanburg Journal says that while prohibition may work all right closes a letter from the mayor of Gaffney, endorsed by other officials of that own. The contents of the letter are encouraging to the people who are honestly and energetically working against the dispensary and liquor traffic in any shape. County Supervisor Phillips is hav ing the road machinery repaired and cleaned up preparatory to housing it until the county gets more money to push road building. The supervisor is to he commended for taking such a step. Mr. Phillips may be relied upon to look after the interests of the county in evrey detail. • * • We would like to know whether or not the Southern Railway Company has forgotten its promise to give Gaffney a new and up-to-date depot? enty-five per ce nt., as shown by the records in the mayor’s court.
