Cole, formerly of Denver, Colo., but more recently of New York, now has charge of the clothing de partment at Messrs. Carroll & Byers’ new store. Mr. Cole is a young man of pleasing address, courtly manner and prepossessing perspnality, and with his twenty years’ experience in the clothing business, he will doubtless make a valuable addition to the cleri cal force of this large and up-to-date establishment. Charter Applied For. The Piedmdnt Mineral Springs Com pany, of this city, has applied for a charter. The incorporators are Paul V Gaffney, W. W. Gaffney, J.’ A. Car- roll and W. C. Carpenter, and the cap ital stock is $25,000. Books of sub scription will be open today (Tues day). Reception Tonight. The young men of the city will ten der a reception to the young ladies at Limestone College this (Tuesday) evening.
