Durham rent ed a bicycle to a negro giving his name as John Smith, and neither the wheel nor John has been seen since—at least not in Gaffney. The wheel was a Co lumbia chainless and was worth fif teen or twenty dollars. Mr. Durham notified the police Sat- urady and ’phoned a description of the negro and wheel to all nearby towns, but, so far, he has had no informa tion concerning either.
