The company has been playing through this section for several weeks past and has been well received at all points. Billy Kersat ds and his own big minstrel company will appear at the Star Theatre Thursday Feb. 4’h Kersunds' Georgia Minstrels this season is larger, better and greater than ever and embraces some of the best known names in the minstrel world The usual daily street parade will be made as near the noon hour as possible each day. Nothing has been left undone to make this the greatest of all minstrel aggregations now before the American public, headed by the original and only Billy Kersands, the best known minstrel star in America. Tne Little Rock Gazette of October itjth says: "Billy Kersands’ minstrels bad an audience which literally packed bal cony and gallery and filled the par quet last night at the Capital Theatre and kept it in hilarious humor throughout the show. It is not too much to say that it is the best min strel show seen here this season, white or colored. "Billy himself is about the sole survivor of the old school of minstrel sy, at least, of his color. It is many years ago—that he was the star of Callender’s minstrels, and afterwards of Jack Haverly’s. His work now is what it used to be in the old days, before the metamorphosis into mod ern minstrelsy, which has strayed very far from the old Christy idea, which gave u< the planatlon negro of a time before the dude and city ne gro had an existence. He gave the perfect imitation of t^e old negro parson, and it was true enough to life to get bis bearers to ‘shout in’ if he had kept it up a little longer. At> it was, it kept all parts of the bou^ in a roar of laughter. The old man can shuffle a foot yet with the young fellows. “A strong feature of the Vaudeville h the musical number of the four Housely Brothers. It will be recalled that Blue Shirt killed Cora Rice at night hv shooting her, in ihe spring of 1902 on the street of a colored section of W’ard 4 and that the killing appeared to bf wanton and unprovoked.
