OPENING OF THE THEATRE On Thuraday Evening, October 2d, With Miaa Itertha Creighton. A long looked for event in Gaffney will be the opening of the Star The atre, which will tak6 place next Thursday night week. The opening attraction will be Miss Bertha Creigh ton and an excellent supporting com pany in “A Colonial Girl.” Of the players and play more will be said later. It is sufficient, however, to add here that Miss Creighton and her company have just concluded a most successful engagement in Philadel phia and goes from there to Pittsburg. She comes direct from Charlotte here, playing in the new theatre in Char lotte on Wednesday, Oct. 1st. This attraction was secured through Messrs. Klaw & Erlanger, of New York, who are perhaps the most widely known theatrical booking agents in America. This agency has booked a number of plays for Gaff ney, each one being a high-class at traction. Following Miss Creighton will come Mr. Chas. B. Hanford on Friday, Oct. 9th, in “The Taming of the Shrew,” a Sbakesperian production. Then comes at proper intervals John Thompson in “Hidden Hand,” Adelaide Thurs ton, Who What When Minstrels, Mr. Bluff, of New York, Nathan Hale, Old Sti Stebbins and others.
