Fire and Catarrh If there is a fire in your cellar you put it out with water. If the flames are in the kitchen you use water again. If the fire is located in the second story, water is the agent to sulxlue it. If in the attic, water is still you/ salva tion. Fire is fire, and no matter where lo cated, water puts it out. Your body is a house of many stories. It is lined throughout with a marvelously sensitive mucous membrane. Whenever this mem brane becomes irritated or inflamed, the result is Catarrh. When you catch cold, you have Catarrh of the head, or eyes, or ear or nose. Bronchitis is Catarrh of the bronchial tubes. Pneumonia is Catarrh of the air cells of the lungs. Consumption is Catarrh of the lungs. Heartburu and Dyspepsia are Catarrh of tne stomach. Kidney troubles are Catarrh of the kidneys. Biliousness is Catarrh of the liver. Deucorrhoea is Catarrh of the pelvic organs in women. Almost everyone has Catarrh in some form. Pe-ru-na is the name of a medicine that cures Catarrh in any pa r t of the body, the same as water extinguishes fire in every part of a house. It is a long tried specific for Catarrh in every complication and phase. It restores the delicate pink membrane that lines the in side* of the body to a jicrfectly normal condi tion, and thus makes the sick well. It is a universal remedy for that universal disease— Catarrh. It is the only true Catarrh cure known to medical science. . — Is tin- greatest fault of the n^o. Have you stillered from it? The State vs. Wuiker Meeks, for the murder of William Price created more interest than any other case. Meeks is what in common parlance is termed a colored sport. He and Price, together with a number of other colored gamblers, had gathered on a Sabbath day on the track of the Gaffney branch of the S. C. A G. E. R. R., and engaged in a game called “skin.” A dispute arose between Price and Meeks, the latter claiming that the former had cheated him, and it finally ended in Meeks shoot ing Price. A very able plea of self defence was set up by Messrs. But ler Osborne and E. A. Trescott. Judge Aldrich was most impartial in his charge* to the* jury, taking occa sion to compliment Messrs. Butler A- Osborne and Holieitor Henry in the very able manner in which tiu-y bad presented both sides of the case. Af ter a deliberation of four hours and twenty-four minutes, the jury brought in a verdict of guilty with a recommendation to the mercy of the court. Judge- Aldrich in a most impressive manner sentenced the prisoner to the penitentiary for life. A great deal of the time of the court was consumed yesterday in se lecting a jury for the James Black wood ca i*. A jury was secured after c in-idt rahle hard work and the case is being heard today. i'Kl SKNT‘Cl.XT (•! T!li« (JHAXO Jl’llV.
