At the forenoon service th* re were not less than three thousand persons, and for over an hour lie held the vast congregation spell-bound with his eloquent and logical preach ing. Mr. Dixon is a wond- rfully force ful speaker. He makes his points so clear and simple, and yet so strong, that anyone can understand him. At times he would rise to a heighth of eloquence thut would enchant you and us he? denounced the h-retical doctrine promulgated hy some of the j poor misguided teachers of an im practical religion his eye would llu-li j and his frame shake w ith an emotion that impressed one with the deep earnestness of IRs convictions. Both sermons were masterpieces and sustained the well tanied repu tation of Mr. Dixon. In this connection we would sug gest that it would he a capita! good thing for Gaffney to erect a taberna cle like Shelby and invite one or more distinguished preachers to iron- duct services here every y* ar. i'lcnif ut .Yntloi li.
