MILEi MEDICAL CO., Elkhart, lud. To the Citizens of tlie Town of Gaff ney: Let every business man and every ot her person who feels an inter- e-t in the promotion and upbuilding of our city, meet in the Council Cham ber, on next Tuesday night, at S o’clock, to organize a I’usiness Club. '['he time for such action is ripe, and further delay will he criminal neg lect on our part to the future of our city. To-day we have the most wide- ^ ly known*town’,of its size in the South. , Every day visitors and prospectors ] are coming among us with the view of locating and investing their rnendy. Many come and go. and to the most of our citizens are unobserved. We need an organization to answer and inform the hundreds of enquiries about our town, as well to take care of the strangers that come within her gates. , Di not think that because we have been a plucky and determined set of people, and have been successful in getting a new county that a kin I of momentum lias been acquired that j ^ Ir ‘ will insure the development of our town, in both the I’orolinu’s. We hav, every natural advantage that could l>e desired, an educational an l social life unsurpassed, new railroad facili ties now being opened up. all of which, if properly presented to the investor, will induce immigration and build up our city; but we must make the world know it. Such institutions alone only arouse and direct senti ment. The individual efforts of our enter prising citizeris can do hut little, but tin* combined efforts and co-op-ration of us a!!, wo believe, will reach the end in view. W. C. IIamuick. Looking at the work of the company from an artistic stand-point, and judging from the performances of Monday. Tuesday, and last night, it can be said that the entire troupe is a meritorious one. Tlie acting was ! clean, the plays presented were among ! the best, and we can truthfully say they deserve better success. Of course the great drawback was the lack of scenery to properly present the plav?. a fault which could not be remedied, but a-ude from that, to our mind, the stage work was the best We have ever witnessed in Gaffney. Miss Atkinson is above the average of emotional actresses, while the fe male supDort ail round is good. The leading man. Mr. Harry Keefer, j os- sesses ability, grace and ease. All in all. the Maude Atkinson Company is one of much ability, and the only de fect is the limited number in the troupe. Let Gaffey show her appreciation of talent by patronizing this company j extensively the remainder of the week. To-night they will produce “Pyg- | maiion and Galatea."to-morrow night, J that beautiful emotional drama,“East Lynn.” and Saturday night, “Rip Van Winkle,” the play trade famous by Joe Jeffeason. probably the best known actor in America. Nervous People often wonder why their nerves arc so weak; why they get tired so easily; why they start at every slight hat sudden sound; why they do not sleep naturally; why they have frequent headaches, indigestion and Palpitation of the Heart. The explanation is simple. It is found in that impure blood which is contin ually feeding the nerves upon refuse instead of the elements of strength and vigor. In such condition opiate and nerve compounds simply deaden and do not cure. Hood’s Sarsaparilla feeds tte nerves pure, rich, red blood; gives natural sleep, perfect digestion, self- control, vigorous health, and is the true remedy for all nervous troubles.
