Mr. Davis is one of the sweet singers of Union county. Mayor Littlejohn, Ills sister, Miss Julia Littlejohn, and Mrs. J. B Easterly left Tuesday night for the Exposition. Andrew MeCraw. of Waverly, N. C. , was in the city last Friday. Mr. Ham Hammett, of Cowpens died Monday morning at G o’clock. Mr. J. R. Webster, of Cowpens. was in the city Monday. Jesse Wall, of Spartanburg, was in (he city Monday. Thus. B. Butler, of Union, was in the city several days this week. Mr. Butler is a new county man and Gaff ney hopes to claim him as her own when we get the new county, if not before. Thos. W. Hendricks, of Home, was in the city Tuesday. Mr. Hendricks is an enthusiastic new county man and a hearty supporter of The Led gkr as he pays for three copies, two of which he sends to relatives away from this section. Squire Wm. Jeffe’Yes, of Home, was in the city Tuesday on ins way to the Atlanta exposition. Mrs. L. R. Goodman came to Gaff ney lust week to join her husband, who is one of the Bee Hive’s sales men. Mr. and Mrs. uoodman an* from Chrrlotte but expect to make this their future home. They are boarding with Mrs. J. B. Easterly on Grenard street. Ed Whelchel, of Trough, was in the city Saturday. Ed expects !<» move to Gaffney in the near future. C. W. Whisonunt, of Wilkinsville, was in the city last Wednesday on business. Paul V. Gaffney, Arthur Pridmore, D. Claud Ross and Ed II. DeCamp | were among the exposition atten dants from Gaffney last week. Rev. B. P. Robertson spent several days in Spartanburg this week. Rev. J. L. Hurley, of Clifton, passed through our city Monday on his way to Blacksburg, and returned the same day driving a “new horse” which he traded for while in our sister city. Mrs. Wylie Tate, of Webster, is visiting Mrs. J. L. Alexander for sev eral days. H. L. Parks was among the Gaffney contingent which left for the expo sition Tuesday night. Mrs. M. C. Bates, of Rich, is visit ing her daughter, Mrs. E. A. Brown, on Limestone avenue. J.J. Brown, of Gowdeysville, was in the city yesterday. J. T. MeCraw, of ^ate Line, was in the city yesterday.
