C., Feb. 25.—I went out this morning and found the better half of our family at the wood pile chipping away at some hickory bark, and I asked her what she was doing. Her reply was she was “fixing to dye.” Poor creature, she may he tired living sure enough. 1 received an invitation to send an onganizer to Trough Shoals to organ ize a society of “Sons of Rest.” Since Brother Flaw Picker has “gone for” this fraternity in such a com mendable and forceful style, I have concluded to renounce my allegience to the order from this time forward and get on the right side of industry and respectability. The sun has come out once more, and the snow is slowly disappearing from the earth. The roads are quite muddy and travel stopped only as ne cessity forces it to be done. Numerically our North Pocolet sec tion is well represented on the juries this year. Seven out of eighteen grand jurors and fourteen out of 72 petit jurors for March term. Some of our farmer hoys have con cluded to quit the field and turn their attention 1c hunting monazite. Any thing they say, will beat raising cot ton at present prices.
