Every child in this county is in vited to attend the great State Fair in Columbia Friday, October 23rd, as guest of the fair. There will be no admission and no red tape for young sters on school day. From every county in the State buses are heading toward Columbia on school day so that the children might see the many fine exhibits, get a glimpse of their capital city, and en joy the many amusements at the fair. Last year thousands upon thous ands of children visited the fair and had a great day. About 100 buses made th«* trip, and this number will be greatly increased. For children who go in their own ears the same courtesy is extended. In other words, all children of school age are free at the State Fair Friday, October J3. NEW 1936-1937 MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE MUST BE PURCHASED BEFORE OCTOBER 31,1936 TO AVOID DELAY AND PENALTY The 1935-1936 license* expire October 31, 1936. Application for 1935-1937 motor vehicle license* should be made immediately to avoid unnecennary delay in receiving 1936-1937 licenses plates and to avoid the possibility of paying a penalty. New 1936- 1937 license plates, according to law, MUST BE DISPLAYED ON NOV. 1, 1936. Licenses for privately operated passenger cars, and trucks and semi-trailers up to and including 1 1 _» tons loud capacity, can only Ire issued on an annual basis. Motor vehicles purchased on or after October 22, 1936, may be licensed for 1936-1937 with out payment of a 1933-1936 fee. Owners of motor vehicles purchased and operat ed prior to October 22, 1936, must first pay such 1935-1936 fee as may be due. If you did not receive your application card, advise the Department imme<liately,giv ing your name, correct address and the make, type and motor number of your vehicle. On all applications for license—both renewal applications and applications for new vehicles—the school district number of the applicant must be shown before license can be issued. There is provided a space for insertion of your school district num ber on the card. When ordering a license for trucks and semi-trailers, the weight of the vehicle un loaded must be shown before license can be issued Read carefully and follow instructions on the application card. Check the applica tion card to see if it is the right one for the motor vehicle you now own. Do not send cash. Your remittance should be made by certified check, cashier’s check or monev order. TO AVOID LONG WAITING IN LINE, MAIL YOUR APPLI CATION. If your car was purchased during 1936 from one who previously registered it in his name, get a transfer blank from your dealer.
