Moseley, Jr., were visitors to Augusta on Monday. ^ Mr. and! Mrs. R. G. Hrrndon and son, Holman, of Furman, spent the week-end with Mrs. R. C. Holman. The friends of Mrs. Edgar A. Brown will learn with regret that'she is a patient at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md., where she underwent a serious operation Monday. It is hoped that she will soon be well enough to return home again. Stephen K. Deason, who has been located in Monck’s Corner for the past several months, has returned to BaVn- wel. WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON CONTRACT CLUB. The members of the Wednesday Af ternoon Bridge Club were Entertained by Mrs. B. P. .Davies last week. After the usual rounds of cards, it was found that Mrs. E. H. Girardeau had won the high score prize for club members, while Mrs. Smith Kepnecy, cf Willis- ton„ won the high score prize for guests. Mrs. B. Wilson Walker cut the -consolation. On Saturday afternoon Mrs. G. M. Neeley, a former teacher of Barnwell, and a recent bride of Denmark, was honored with five tables of bridge by members of the local school faculty at the home of Mrs. Kate M. Patter son on Main Street. During the af ternoon, musical selections were ren dered by Miss Grace League. After cards, it. was found that the high score prize, a bon bon dish, had been won by Mrs. Neeley, while the conso lation, a salt and pepper set, was cut by Mrs. J. P. Scoville. Mrs. Neeley was also remembered with a lovely piece of silver. A salad course with coffee was served by the hostesjsgs,, Misses Sue Carter, Elease Ray, Mary China Stevenson and Annie Margaret Zeigler, assisted by Misses McCul lough and Margaret Ellis.
