Such a fight Is legitimate and for the good of all, when the methods used to get your patronage are kept within proper bounds • However, It is only fair to point out to you that if you be lieve the exaggerated nonsense that is now appearing in much of the gaso line advertising you are doomed to disappointment • These claims about “super-quality”— about “quick- sorting,” “anti-knock,” “mileage,” “power,” etc., are exaggerations that just don't make common sense. Why let yourself be fooled • In offering you Essolene, this company’s new motor fuel, we make no claims • We Copr. 1933. Inc. do guarantee smoother performance for Essolene • We do remind you that the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey Is the world's largest oil organization, with superior facilities and a record for pioneering in im provements and new developments # And we state that this organization in making such a guarantee is fully aware of the importance of such a public statement made overjts signa ture • We stand squarely back of Essolene as a great advance over gaso line—a challenge to all gasolines W We urge you to try it once—with/a tank cleared of other fuels, and we will rest our case on your judgment.
