But It Is In the Interior of the larger islands that one finds the real native life of the Cape Verdes It is said that the ancestors of these peo ple of the interior once lived along the seashore. But for a hundred years after Spain took control of the islands the Cape Verdes were plun dered by pirates. Like Greenland, the name Cape Verde Is deceptive.
