It is reported that after this year no more radio broadcasts of world’s aeries baseball games will be permit ted, through the fear of the magnates that it mighf keep a few people from attending the games in p?rson. Few persons so situated as to make it possible to gee a world’s series game would stay at home even for a radio report simply to savo the price cf ad mission. Yet millions in distant paits of the country would enjoy the radio broadcasts, which would (reate a greater desire to actually witness the gameg at a future time. As Wm. C. Grunow, a leading radio manufacturer, recently pointed out, *the stay-at-homes of today are the first in line at the box-cffice tomor row.” And this is as true of boxing and ether sporting events as it is cf baseball. The public has been very generous in its support of professional sports, and the promoters should have busi ness judgment enough to see that de priving the public of these radio re ports will cause indignation and re sentment which are likely to be re flected in the attendance records of the future. ’ The proposed action of the mag nates is petty, narrow-minded and an evidence of pc-or sportsmanship on their part. Guess, Jr., of Denmark, made last week what is thought to be the biggest cow sale ever made in this State. He aold one young bull and six ycung cews to J. A. Frohock, of Bra- dentown, Fla., for $4,000. These cows were sent away in charge of Mr. Guess’ dairyman, W. E. Jeffords. Mr. Guesg operates an up-to-date daily, and is a breeder of pure bred Guernsey cattle. He has won for him- selft quite a reputation as a breeder, and people come from far and wide to see his cattle. Several months ago Mr. Guess had the misfortune to lose a cow that had the re.crd of being the second best cow in the United States.
