Harris returned to Barnwell last week after spending a few days in Knoxville, Tenn., where he was called on account of the illness of his sister. C., the wedding to take place June 8th at the Church of the Redeemer, Orange burg.” Miss Glover is a graduate in music of Chicora College and for the past two years she has been teaching school in Orangeburg. The bride-elect has many friends in Barnwell, where she has visited on a number of oc casions. Mr. Riley is a son of the late Rich ard W. Riley, of Barnwell. He has ben making his home in Columbia for the past several years, where he is special agent of the Hurt and Quin Insurance Company, of Atlanta, and is president of the Columbia Dry Cleaning Company. Mr. Riley and Miss Frances Simms is spending the summer with her brothers, Perry and Beverly Simms, who have an appartment at the Mammoth Hotel in Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Walker, their son ani daughter have returned to New York City after spending a cou ple of weeks at “Quail Lodge,” their country estate near Barnwell. Hr£ body was laid to rest the following day in the Friend ship Baptist Churchyard, many friends gathering Uf pay their last tribute of respect. Mr. Hutto was born and reared fn Barnwell County and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a faithful husband and a de voted father. The Juniors of the Barnwell High School entertained the Seniors and the members of the high school facul ty with a banquet at the school build ing Friday evening. The guests were received in the reception hall, where they were served punch by the flower girls, and at nine o’clock' 1 they were invited into the banquet hall which wa s profusely decorated with the colors of both classes—pink and silver and green and gold. The room was a woodland bower of moss, Southern smilax and roses, while the windows were draped in colors representing the rainbow.
