CELEBRATES SIXTH BIRTHDAY. * IVfiss Gene Peeples, the attractive little daughter of Mr. and Mrs.^George Peeples, entertained about thirty of her little friends Tuesday afternoon with a Valentine birthday party, the occasion being heir sixth birthday. A number of games were played and several contests enjoyejd, the winners being Mildred Compton, Sonny Patter son and Marjorie Brown. Price charmingly en tertained the members of the Wednes day Afternoon Bridge Club ieist week, the decorations and favors beting in keeping with the Valentine season. After the usual number of rounds had been played, it was found that the high score prize, a deck of bridge cards in unusual design, had been won by Mrs. J. Norman Anderson, a nd the consolation,-sepre pads, wts cut hy Mrs. George Batten, Jr. of Montclair, N. J. During the afternoon the hos tess served a salad'course with cof fee. Another social event of last week in which the spirit of Valentine pre dominated was thc» meeting of the Smart Set Bridge Club with Mrs. LeRoy Molair. Mrs.-D. B. Wither spoon won the, high score prize and was presented with a heart-shaned boudoir pillow, while the-consolation, a red .silk heart-shaped box of candy, was cut by Miss Ella Louise Molair. Grapefruit salad with coffee j-Ipas served. . C. K. Chreitzberg, Educational Dir ector, Grand boydge of South Carolina, A. F. M., will visit several towns in Barnwell County next week for the purposo of delivering lecture^ on Masonry. The meeting at Dunbarton, which will be held in the aefilDol audi torium, is open to the public and a cordial invitation is extended every body to attend.
