lowing a severe attack of illness.

ly ill with double pneumonia, but will
be glad to know that his condition

last summer the editors of the papers
in counties comprising all of the ter
ritory between the Edisto and Savan
nah rivers met for the purpose, of
organizing a sectional Chamber of
Commerce. At this meeting a com-
mittee was appointed to investigate

court house with 175 persons in at
tendance. - The president,* W. Fred
Lightsey, of Miley, presided and gave
an opening address, calling attention
of those present to the need of coop
eration for the successful develop
ment of this section qf the nation. He
pointed out that the development of
any particular county would help the*
entire section comprising this organ
ization. Mr. Lightsey introduced the
first speaker, Congressman Butler B.
Hare. In introducing the speaker he
referred to him as one of the most ar-

This organization then began to
function. The county units have se

active. It is proposed by this organi
zation to ask the representatives from

Court House this (Thursday) evening,
