Truth of the matter is, too much
of this stunt flying is really dunce
flying.

use himself.

-We see that President Coolidge
agrees with our oft-expressed opinion
that the banks of the South can pre
vent a surplus of cotton and bring
about better prices for the staple by
refusing credit for a big acreage.
Such an expression in his message to
Congress Tuesday is said to have been
reponsible for a 20-point advance in
price. One can easily imagine what
would happen if his suggestion were
put into actual practice.

For some time now the Government

of the country through its practice of

these printers must pay taxes, insur

to which any form of private industry
is subjected.
This practico of printing envelopes

Along with his scores of other
friends in Barnwell, The People-Sen
tinel greatly regrets the removal of
the Rev. R. W. Humphries to another
field of endeavor, but we at least have
the consolation of knowing he will be
only 20 milos away. During his all-
too-short stay in this city, Mr. Hum
phries has endeared himself to the
members of his own congregation not
only (as Woodrow Wilson would say),
but also to the members of other oon-
gregat'ons t s well. He in. great meas
ure was responsible for, the building
of the beautiful new church building
on Main Street and it had been con
fidently hoped that he would have the
pleasure and privilege of delivering

President Coolidge’s statement tnat
Government should get out of all
kinds of business and stay out. This
includes, of course, the printing busi

If the bills fail, a new four-year
contract between the Govermflient and
the envelope manufacturers will prob

will bo continued. Winning the fight
means giving industrial America a
