A marriage that came as quite a surprise to their friends was that o Miss Lula Falkenstein, formerly o Barnwell, but for the past few months of Columbia, and Mr. Horace Creech of this city. The ceremony was per formed in Columbia Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Creech returned ^Barnwell Monday night and are mak ing their home at the Circle Inn for awhile. Witherspoon, president; Mrs. LeRoy Molair, vice-president; Miss Ethel McSwain, secretary and treas urer. Brown. be The.members of the girls’ basket ball team entertained Friday even ing in honor of tha members of the Barnwell High School football squad with a reception at the home of Capt. and Mrs. J. B. Armstrong. About 35 young ladies and .gentlemen were present. The home was attractively decorated or the . occasion with the football colors, red and white. Dur ing the evening an interesting con test was held, the winners being Miss Scott McNab and Billy Sanders, who .were presented with a box of face powder and two handkercheifs, re spectively. Progressive conversation was also anjoyed, and the guests were served with dainty rereshents, con sisting of punch and cake. witfi a box of stationery. MARRIAGE. v Miss Carrie Adelle Still and Mr. Benjamin Franklin Creech were mar ried on Saturday afternoon, October 29th, at 4:00 o’clock in the judge of probate’s office, Judge Snelling offi ciating. Only a few friends and rela tives witnessed the ceremony. Mrs. Creech is the attractive daugh ter of Mr. Pierce Still, of the Black- ville section,'and a granddaughter of W. D. Still. Mr. Creech is > a son of L. B. Creech, of Georges Creek town ship, and a prosperous young farmer. Tho young couple is well known throughout this section and carry MR. AND MRS.
