A crowd of sophisticated Rich

' A Permanent Wave !
State Constables
Sent to Ellenton
Ellentton, August 6.—Governor J.
G. Richards sent two state constables
from Columbia to aid in apprehending
the gang of robbers who have perpe
trated forty robberies, involving 20
business houses in this section during
the past two months. Contables Rich,
ardson and Cunningham were detail
ed to the work and they arrested two
negroes in addition to eight previous
ly held and it is now believed the gang
is broken up.
The wholesale robberies constitut
ed the most notable depredations ever
made in this section and the fact that
the gang has been arrested affords
much satisfaction among the people
of this section of the state.
