Moaeley and daughter, Miss Virginia Moseley, have returned from a visit to relatives in Spartan burg. Mrs. Hagood and Mrs. Bostick, of Jasper County, have been the guests of the former’s son ,Mr. M. B. Hagood, this week. Misses Julio Lemon, Lavinis Moore and Elizabeth and Willie Bush Dea ton are expected home this week from Winthrop College. Mrs. BoicfBU and son, Jack, of Columbia spent the week-end in the dty wit^ her brothers, Messrs. Harry D. and Lonnie M. Calhoun. Mr. F. G. Pickling, of Blackville, was a caller at The People-Sentinel office Tuesday. The friends of Mr. D. C. Vickery will learn with regret that. he con tinues quite ill at his home here. The many friends of Mrs. J. Julien Bush will be glad to know that she returned; home Tuesday afternoon from an Augusta hospital and is rapid ly recovering from an operation. They hope to see her out again soon. Miss Edna Lott, of Johnston, who spent the week-end with Dr. and Mrs. W. M. Jones, delighted the con gregation of the Barnwell Baptist Church with a beautiful organ recital Sunday evening. Mrs. Sailie McNab, who has been quite iH at her home here for several weeks, was carried to a Columbia hospital Monday morning for treat ment. She was accompanied by Mr. and Mn. W. J. Sexton. Mrs. N. The piano and voice recital of the Beethoven Music Club, assisted by the violin pupils of Mrs. Norman Ander son, which was scheduled for tomor row (Friday) night, will be given to night (Thursday) at 8:00 o'clock at the Barnwell school auditorium. The change was made because of the con flict with the entertainment at the Vamp Theatre tomorrow evening. Mrs. Ira Fales cordially invites the public to attend the recital. Gotten GInnings. There were 28,742 bales of cotton ginned in Barnwell County prior to December 1st, as compared with 26,- 210 bales to the seme date last year, according to a report made public by the Department of Commerce on De- cemmber 8th. The report shows that ginnirgs in other counties in this sac- tion were as follows: • 1826 1825 Aiken 35,556 28,447 Allendale 16,404 14,009 Bamberg 20,902 18,701 Hampton 7,279 11,717 Counties in the upper part of the State continue to show smaller gin- nings than in 1826 and the estimated yield in South Carolina has been re duced 110,000 bales.
