Mr, Willie Zissett, of Geo^geN Creek township, died at his home on Mpnday, the 20th inst, after a short illness. Mr. Zissett was 76 years old, and a member of the Barnwell Pres byterian Church for fifty odd years. He enjoyed the confidence and re spect of all who knew fyn^jand will be greatly missed in the community in which he lived. Mr. Zrssett is sur vived by the followirg children: R. L. The latter team was defeated by Al lendale last Friday afternoon, 19 to 0. Barn 1)^*1 roy^d by Fire. A large barn i|t the rear of the Main Street residence of Dr. C.* N. Burckhalter, of this city, was totally destneyej by fire shortly after 11 o’clock Monday-night, together with its cortents of hay, fodder, com, etc. Fortunately no animals were in the builtfcrg at the time, Dr. Burckhalter having driveii down to the depot to meet his wife and son. The blaze was first discovered by a neighbor. The alarm was quickly given by him, but some time clasped before the ar rival of the volunteer fire depart ment. So rapidly did the flames spread that the barn was almost cn- tiieiy corsumed before a stream of water could be played on the building. The loss Is partially covered, by * in surance. The origin of the fire is unknown, but Dr. Burckhalter thinks it may have been due to spontangous combustion, as a quantity of green hay was in the building.
