Very soon chopping cotton will be gin and farmers are Considering just how to cause their cotton to grow as fast as possible. •. Prom results got ten by farmers and by rtests made, it is clearly shown that the qsost profitable time, to apply nitrate of soda to cotton is ten days to two weeks after chopping. This is par ticuiarly tr^e where from 75 to 100 pounds of ^oda is applied per acre However, where heavier applications are made I advise applying one hun dred pounds «t the time indicated above, waiting gw^- weeks before making another application and so on until the amount to be applied is us ed. Where only 400 to 600 pounds of fertilizer have been applied under the cotton it will be found thait 150 to 200 pounds of nitrate per acre will give the largest profit. With the above facts in mind, farmers will do well to secure their nibrate of soda a t once in order that the application can be made to cot ton at the proper time.—H. G. Boyls, ton, County Agent. The plate glass for windshields and windows is as perfect as can be made. Upholstery material contains a larger percentage of wool than is ordinarily specified- -even for much higher priced cars. The basic fea tures of Ford design have never been improved upon by any manufacturer. No other car offers greater de pendability. ‘ The Ford car has won the favor of millions of users under every conceivable motoring condition. Its convenience is known and appreciated the world over; its performance is taken for granted. Such quality is possible at Ford prices because every operation. from mining of ore to final as sembly, is under direct control* of the Ford Motor Company. Iron is taken from Ford mines in Michigan; coal from the Company’s mines in Kentucky and West Vir ginia. Glass comes from Ford glass plants; wood from the Ford timber trgets in the North. Raw materials and finished products are carried over the Company’s own transpor tation routes; coke ovens, blast fur naces, a steel mill, foundries and saw mills—all are part of this com plete organization. There are even salvage plants, paper mill, cement plant, etc., to transform waste m«t#Hais into useful by-products. In this way every possible economy is effected.
