The Sunday New . of Charleston, contained the following interesting account of the growth of the Edisto Public Service Company, of Denmark., of which Mr. R A. Easterling, n' native of this city, is vice-president: The Edisto Public Sin vice” T^frn" puny, with home office at Denmark, has shown romni kablo growth and development in the past ten years, having been organized in l l H.> with a capitnL stock of only ten thousand dollars. At first the company only operated the electric light plant at Denmaik, fui nishirr*' service aC nigh; only. Eater on the local .ice plant was taken over and the combined plants were Operated for about one year. The electric light and power service was then nut on cotUimious service basis, and due to the fact that Denmaik had twenty-f ur hour ser vice a number of small industries us-* ing power were started up. Other nearby towns not having day service, and wishing to get same, made ar rangements with the Edisto Public Service Company to supply this ser vice. Gradually new lines have been built and other tow ns added to this system unti vc’oper financially strongest of any like com pany in lower South Carolina. Fibers may be aninfal or vegetable; tough meats, fried steaks, celery, radish, or hard, raw, fruits,—abandon them. Skins of . grapes, baked apples, prunes, cher ries, tomatoes—all harmful. Do not use irritating cathartics, unless 2 r ou would keep the smouldering fire burning. Use boiled or stewed meats and vege tables; stewed fruits are belter than raw fruits, though citrou.; fruit-juices arc advisable for the nerves. Soft cereal with cream, butter and toast arc excellent. Eggs too. Brown bread and not white bread, should be eaten. If you are over-stout, cut your diet ary in half until you reduce.
