At seven o'clock a team from the "Stenos" of the community met the "scrub faculty" team, with the faculty men attried in tight-fitting feminine garb, in an uproariously funny conest. After the game the Clemson 'varsity outfit played an ex hibition game with the Clemson Y. M. C. A. in which the Tigers, playing the best basketball they have exhibi ted on the home floor since the Geor gia game, won by the score of 42 to 19. Most of the crowd left after the 'varsity "Y" game, but in the pre sence of a dozen or so spectators the Clemson scrubs scrimmaged against a team from Central and emerged at the big end of a 32 to 14 count. A large crowd of cadets and cam pus people gave the young ladies much applause when they appeared on the floor. The "scrub-faculty" 1 team appeared in very vampish at tire, with white skirts, silk. stockings, powdered faces, painted lips, and puff ed Lord Chesterfields. The steno's line-up consisted of Misses Elaine 1 Keith, Louise Pope, Ruth Smith, Leila I Hart and Sally Corbett. The young ladies (?) of the "scrub faculty" were the Misses Jones, Nimitz, Sher man, Carr and Gunter. The game went merrily along, more on the or der of football than basketball, with much holding, ett. In spite of their tight skirts, the "scrub faculty" suc ceeded in getting a slight lead. Du ring the second half "Miss Gunter" ( suffered a serious accident when he lost her skirt. Dr. E. J. Stewart, who refereed then declared the game for feited to the ladies on two counts, 1 first because the "scrub" faculty play- I era had split their skirts to facilitate t movement, and second, because of the loss of Gunter's skirt. So the score stood two to zero, the official count I for the forfeited game. Miss Elaine Keith, of Pickens, starred for the c "Steno" team, in spite of Miss Cor- I bett. * * * * * * * * * * * *1 EGGS FOR SE'TING * ** * Ferris or Kulp Strain (white * *t * leghorn) $2.00 per setting. * f B.
