Announcement has been made of the Lpproaching marriage of Miss Floride D)avis of' Marion to Mr. J. M. Smith of Basley. Miss Davis taught school at Biasley several yeas ago and is most pleasantly remembered in this county. Mr. Smith is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Smith of Easley and is one of the best known and Popular young men of this connty. President W. S. Currell, of the Uni versity of South Carolina, will deliver an address before the graduating class of the Pickens High school May 29. Prof. Melton invited President Currell some time ago to make this address and last week received a letter of accept ance. This will be good news to the people here. Mr. Currelk is oneof the foremost educators of the country. The next lyceum number to appeai in Pickens will be at the school audito riumi Monday night, March 6, beginninf at 8.30 o'clock.
