C., arrived in Vicksburg Fri day and will be with the Demo ocrat Publishing Co-Vicksburg (Miss.) Democrat. The Ladies' Cottage prayer meeting will meet Friday even ing at 4 o'clock with Mrs. Ben LaBoon. All the ladies of Pick ens are cordially invited to at tend. C. L. On account of the Pickens city council and the management of the Ivy Water Light & Power Co. being unable to agree on a new contract for lights for the town the street lights have been off since October 1. We are grieved to learn that O. S. Stewart has suffered a re lapse from his recent attack of feiter and has been taken to the Greenville hospital for treat ment. We trust he may soon be restored to normal health. Quite number of Pickens peo ple went down to Clemson Sat urday to see the football game be'tween Clemson and Davidson. The game resulted in a tie, (3-6. Riggs field, Clemson's new ath letic field, was dedicated on this occasion. Up to Tuesday morning no in formation or clue :of any kind could be found concerning the mysterious disappearance of C. W. Martin, who disappeared in Atlanta, Ga., September 18. No reasons can be found for his disap-earance. He is a son .of Editor C. T. Martin of Easley. A. A. Pace returned last week from Greenwood, where he h~ad been at the bedside of his daugh ter', Mrs. Oscar WV. Lollis, and her husband, who are both in the hospital suffering from an attack of fever. They have been danger'ously ill, but we are glad to state they now seem to be on the road to recovery. Rev. E. V. Babb, pastor of the First Baptist church at Easley, was a pleasant caller at The Sentinel office Monday morning. We are alwvays glad'to see him. Mr. Babb is doing a good wyork at Easley. He is holding a meet ing this wveek at Lenhardt school house. The latter part of this month Rev. T. V\. McCall of Clemson College will assist him in a revival at Easley. The centennial celebration of the Pendleton Farmers' Society will be held at Pendleton on October 12 and 13 and at Ciem son College October 14. An elaborate program has been pre pared and among the most prominent speakers on the pro gram are Clarence Poe, editor of the Progressive Farmer-, Gover nor Manning, Congressmari Lever, President Harrison of th( Southern Railway, Presideni Riggs of Clemson College.
