Head of Crete. T1he tabulated vote of the pro hibition election in another part of this paper is not official and the Pickens county vote is only twelve of the twenty-six boxes. The vote, however, is approxi n.ately correct. Up to Tuesday afternoon we are unable to get the official count. Will Ferguson, son of Israel Ferguson, one of the most re spected colored citizens of Pick ens county, was married last week to Dora Doyle of West minster, a member of one of the most prominent colored families of Oconee. For several years she was a teacher in the Seneca institute. Just as we go to press we learn of the sad and sudden death of Postmaster J. H. G. McDaniel, of Pickens, which oc curredl at his home Tuesday night about '19.310 o'clock. He was sitting in a chair when he fell over, being caught by a member of the family, !and died before a doctor could reach him. He had been unwvell for several weeks, but wvas thought to be improving and( had bee~n able to 1be at his oflice this week. His death has cast a gloom over the entire commun)i ty. Funeral ar rangements have niot been miade as we write this.
