Christopher and children have been visiting rela tives in Easley. The U. D. C. will meet with Mrs. C. E. Robinson next Friday afternoon at four o'clock. Miss ,Bessie Robertson has re turned 'to Pickens after spend ing the summer in Anderson. ' Willie Thompson of Green ville spent Sunday with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. O. Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Tay lor of Easley spent several days of last week in Pickens with Capt. and Mrs. J. T. Taylor. )r. and Mrs. W. A. Wood ruff, of Cateechee, spent a few hours Friday with Mrs. Wood ruff's parents in Pickens. Miss Ella Hiott will leave Fri day for Edgefield, where she will teach the sixth grade of the Edgefield Graded School. Col. W. D. Upshaw was en tertained in the hospitable home of Judge and Mrs. T. J. Maul din while he was in Pickens. Misses Ethel Leslie and Lake Ballentine of the Mount Zion community spent the week-end with Misses Hattie and Edna Earle. Prof. John Lesley was in the city this week and called at The Sentinel office. Prof. Lesley is a great gospel singer and will he in a meeting at Piedmont for the next three weeks. We indeed regret to chronicle the severe illness of Mrs. Robert E. Yougue and daughter, Hen rietta. Miss Henrietta is suffer ing from an attack of appendi citis and will undergo an opera tion T. N. Jenkins, formerly a cit izen of Pickens, but for the past several years a resident of North Carolina is on a visit to his son in-law, Magistrate A. S. Porter, and shaking hands with former friends. Earl Morris has quit his place with Hobbs-Henderson Co. in order to resume his studies in the Pickens school. Old reliable Ebb Field can now be found with this firm and will be glad to have his friends drop in and see him when in neet of any thin in his line.
