Doyle of Calhoun, and they were about the finest pair of colonels in the squad. Mounted on fine animals and dressed in a colonel's full suit of blue with all that gold braid, etc., they looked splendid. Seeing Colonel Cureton pass, one little girl asked her mother if he was a Rus sian or a German. The governor is a fine rider and he and his staff made a fine appearance. V ~How's This? Notice to Voters The board of registration for Pickens county will meet in their office at the court house on Monday,. the second day of August, 1915, to open the books of registration and remain in session three days for the purpose of registering all voters becoming 21 years of age and all who have not registered since 1908. Will also give renewals to those who have lost their certificates. Any voter wishing to vote at any of the new precincts at Flat Rock, Norris or Cross Roads may have their certlin cates transferred to any one of these precincts. 'The subscription lists of the corinty papers usu ally do mighty well to exceed two or three thousand. WVe do not, of course, know what the circulation of The Sentinel is, but it is not as much as it de serves." We have never met the editor of the Advocate and we appreciate the compliment he paid us all the more for that. We suppose the editor of the Ad vocate receives papers from nearly every county in the state, and we know he is in position to correctly judge a weekly newspaper, and we appreciate the compliment all the more for that. We are trying to publish a paper which will be of benefit to Pickens county and a paper of which the people of this county May feel proud and we want the co-operation of our family of subscribers in doing this. If each subscriber of The Sentinel in Pickens connty would speak a good word for us, or better still, get a new subscriber, we could further improve the paper.
