Eugene Connelly Dead Eugene Franklth Connelly died at his home near Easley Friday, July 9, in the 27th year of his life. He leaves a widow and two small children, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Connelly, and one sister, Mrs. Guy Wyatt, and one brother, L. J. Connelly, all of Easley. Eugene married, a little more than four years ago, Miss Estella, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Robert Wyatt, near Easley. Mr. John Smith at ler guson's Crossing is an uncle; also Mr. James R. Connelly, near Griffin. He joined the Baptist church at Mt. Pisgah three years ago and was an earnest, active, working Christian and a young man of sterling character. It was thought that had he lived he would have been a preacher, but the Lord called him home. We must bow in sub. mission -to - His will for He makes no 4 mistak''es. Funeral services were held by his 4 pastor, Rev. D. W. Hiott, assisted by 4 Rev. W. A. Lamar, and his body was interred at Fairview church in Ander son county. An immense throng at tended the funeral. Eugene was a faithful member of the W. 0. W? and the members of Hickory Camp laid his body to rest. The family has the sym pathy of the entire community. Farewell, dear brother, till we meet again. H. Sheldon-Boggs A marriage of much interest in this section was that of Miss Sarah Louise Sheldon of Westminster to Rev. Wade H. Boggs of Shawnee, Okla., which took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Sheldon, in Westminster, Wednesday afternoon, July 7, at 5 o'clock. Rev. J. E. Wal lace, pastor of the Westminster Pres byterian church, performed the cere mony. The bride is a well-known and highly accomplished young lady, a graduate of the Columbia College for Women and for two years has been a popular and efficient teacher in the Westminster high school. The groom is a son of M. A. Boggs of Liberty, a graduate of Davidson college and Austin, Texas, Theological seminary. He is the popu lar pastor of a flourishing church in Shawnee, OklIa., where the young couple will make their home. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for Western North Carolina for a sojourn in the land of the sky. Many out-of-town guests attended the wedding and both of the contracting parties have innumerable friends who wish for them a long, happy and useful life. Cedar Rock Notes Misses Josie and Lucile Couch spent the week-end with their sister, Mrs. Homer Jones. Mrs. John Freeman and daughter, Myrtle. visited Z. T. Jones a few days last week. Miss Ethel Westmoreland was the at tractiv'e gucst of Ada H. Miller last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. John Stewart are spend ing a few days in Charleston with the latter's brother, J. D. Robins. Mrs. J. T. Mauldin visited her parents last week. Mr. and Mrs. Joel H. Miller. Mr. John McCombs is very ill with fever at present. We hope for him a speedy recovery. Mrs. Hester spent last week with her son, Dock Hester, of the Lenhardt sec tion. SusiE. Notice to Voters The board of registration for Pickens county will meet in their office at the court house on Monday, the second (lay of August. 1915, to open the books of registration and remain in session three days for the purp~ose of registering all voters becoming 21 years of age and all who have not registered since 1908. Will also give renewals to those who have lost their certificates. Any voter wishing to vote at any of the new precincts at Flat Rock, Norris or Cross Roads may have their certifi cates transferred to any one of these precincts.
