Eugene Connelly Dead
Eugene Franklth Connelly died at his
home near Easley Friday, July 9, in the
27th year of his life. He leaves a widow
and two small children, his father and
mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Connelly,
and one sister, Mrs. Guy Wyatt, and
one brother, L. J. Connelly, all of
Easley.
Eugene married, a little more than
four years ago, Miss Estella, youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Robert Wyatt,
near Easley. Mr. John Smith at ler
guson's Crossing is an uncle; also Mr.
James R. Connelly, near Griffin.
He joined the Baptist church at Mt.
Pisgah three years ago and was an
earnest, active, working Christian and
a young man of sterling character. It
was thought that had he lived he would
have been a preacher, but the Lord
called him home. We must bow in sub.
mission -to - His will for He makes no 4
mistak''es.
Funeral services were held by his 4
pastor, Rev. D. W. Hiott, assisted by 4
Rev. W. A. Lamar, and his body was
interred at Fairview church in Ander
son county. An immense throng at
tended the funeral. Eugene was a
faithful member of the W. 0. W? and
the members of Hickory Camp laid his
body to rest. The family has the sym
pathy of the entire community.
Farewell, dear brother, till we meet
again. H.
Sheldon-Boggs
A marriage of much interest in this
section was that of Miss Sarah Louise
Sheldon of Westminster to Rev. Wade
H. Boggs of Shawnee, Okla., which
took place at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Sheldon, in
Westminster, Wednesday afternoon,
July 7, at 5 o'clock. Rev. J. E. Wal
lace, pastor of the Westminster Pres
byterian church, performed the cere
mony.
The bride is a well-known and highly
accomplished young lady, a graduate of
the Columbia College for Women and
for two years has been a popular and
efficient teacher in the Westminster
high school. The groom is a son of M.
A. Boggs of Liberty, a graduate of
Davidson college and Austin, Texas,
Theological seminary. He is the popu
lar pastor of a flourishing church in
Shawnee, OklIa., where the young couple
will make their home.
Immediately after the ceremony the
bride and groom left for Western North
Carolina for a sojourn in the land of
the sky.
Many out-of-town guests attended the
wedding and both of the contracting
parties have innumerable friends who
wish for them a long, happy and useful
life.
