FrankBunker of Easley is run ning a moving picture show at Walhalla and the Keowee Courier says it is a good one. Members of the Philathea and Baraca classes of the Pick ens Baptist churh enjoyed a picnic at the power plant Fri day evening. In the recent election held at Six Mile the patrons of that district voted unanimously in favor of an additional two mill levy for school purposes. The electric light company is extending its line on Easley street and installing lights in the homes of T. R. Allen,-R. B. Waldrop and Arthur Trotter. The Ladies' Cottage prayer meeting will meet Friday even ing at 4 o'clock with Mrs. D. B. Finney. All the ladies of Pick ens are cordially invited to be present. It may be of interest to pa trons and trustees of schools to know that schools may be con solidated by petition. See school law recently published in The Sentinel. Mrs. N. S. Moseley of route 3 has been very sick, but we are glad to state that she is improv ing. Mr. John Tyler Cantrell of route 3 is also improving after being sick for some time. Mrs. 0. S. Stewart is very sick with fever, we are sorry to relate. Mr. Stewart who has been confined to his bed with fever for several weeks, is im proving rapidly. We wish for them both a speedy and com plete recovery. Supt. R. T. Hallum spent last week at Winthrop college, Rock Hill, attending the con ference of the county superin tendents of education of this state and the summer school. He was accompanied by Mrs. Hallum who spent two days at Rock Hill. We regret to state that Mrs. Bettie Hendricks, of the Griffin section, suffered a fall in her room one night last week and was painfully, tho not seriously, injured. Whereas, a petition from the freehold ers and electors of Qolenoy School District No. 56 has been filed with the County Board of Education asking that an election be held to determine whether or not an additional sp~ecial levy of four mills shall be levied on said district for school purposes. Therefore, it is ordered that the trus tees of the above-named district do hold an election in said district on the 17th clay of J1uly, 1915, at the school house.
