While catching the mail pouch at LibertV recently, postal clerk H. A. Sigman, on fast mail train number 29, had his hand so severely hurt that it necessi tated his being off duty sixty days. Two little twin boys were baptized by the pastor last Sun day afternoon into the fellow ship of the Baptist church at Alice mill, Easley. A great throng of people witnessed the ceremony. A play will be given at Flat Rock school house next Friday evening beginning at 8 o'clock. An admission fee of 10 and 15 cents will be charged and all those who attend will be more than repaid. R. B. Neal and 0. F. Adams of Seneca have secured the agency of Ford automobiles in Pickens and Hurricane town ships of this county. W. N. Jones and Ben Hendricks have the agency for the balance of the county. Rev. L. E. Wiggins, our: pop ular Methodist pastor, has been in Georgetown for the past week helping in a protracted meeting. We hope many souls may be saved and the church revived as the result of Brother Wiggins' visit.. Fire totally destroyed the six room residence of J. F. Crane on his farm near Liberty Mon day morning. April 5, about 11 o'clock. -It was a new house and was occupied at the time by Robert Sanders and family. Nothing was saved. No insur ance. Loss a bout $1,000. B. C. Baker-, who has been very sick for several days, was operated on at his home in Pick ens last Monday for bladder trouble. The operation w as performed b y 2Dr. Black of Greenville, assisted by Drs. Eugene Brown of Greenville and Porter of Pickens. He is now resting as well as could be ex pected., The five room residence of Mr. Lawrenice Jones, situated one mile from Easley on -the new road leadling to the Ariail moun tain, was totally destroyed byv fire Monday afternoon. The family, except a small. child which was asleep in a cradle in the house, were at work on the farm when the fire was first dis covered. The child was saved but the furniture and~ bedding was destroyed. Mr. Jones car ried a small Insurance on the residence.-Easley Progress.
