State Fair, October 27-31 Columbia, Oct. 7.-Reflecting the great prosperity which bless ed South Carolina this year, an prdmising the greatost succesi of, any previous undertaking pxeparations - ha e been con , te for holding the forty-fiftli Annual Fair of The State Agri. cultural'and Mechanical Society in Columbia, October 27, 28, 29 30, 31. Indications at this writ. ing are that people from every nook and corner of the Stat( will crowd the fair grounds by thousands and it is expecte( that attendance records will set a new high water mark at the gathering this year. The abundant garvests of cot ton, corn and tobacco, the grat ifying returns for the labor of their hands and the evidence of ature's favor in the ideal har -vest weather, have niado the \farmers' of the Stat'e wear the happ smile which comes from wei filled barns and .torehouses and clinintv'j.ank deposits, and they are now Aooking forward to the an'nual g. hering in Co. lumbia of their k 1smen, neigh bors and friends,\when every bodY turns aside ffom business to renew their youth -.nd to have a regular good (..,. 41.mre, this being the week of the an nual State Fair in October.
