If you t TIGERS GOBBLED UP BAPTIST CONTINGENT IN BEAUTIFUL EXHIBITION OF BASEBALL AT BUENA VISTA YESTERDAY THREE TO TWO Waa the Score--Furman's Er? rora Lott tho Game-Brilliant Playing of Clemionite In a beautiful exhibition of base ball at Buena Vista park Friday af ternoon the Clemson college aggrega tion defeated the Furman University aide by a score of 3 to 2.. The consensus of opinion among those conversant with the game was that tho Tigers were outclassed by the Baptists, and would have gone down in defeat had lt not been for arrors of the latter team. The game, In all probability, would have gone to the Furmanltes anyhow had lt not treen for a brilliant play by McMil lan, third baseman for Clemson, in the seventh inning. The score stood . to 2 in favor of Clemson, two men were down and Furman had two nen on base. A hot grounder, good 'or n clean hit. was sent over the hird sack, but was stabbed with one tar.d by McMilllin waa sent to first jase ahead of the runner. Qossutte 'or Furman also played star ball, nnkinrr a sensational shoe string satch In right hold in the latter half of he fifth inning. Oossette also storrcd it hat, getting three hits out of four traci up. The game came as tho cloning event )f the Clemson collcgo cadet encaiup heni in Anderson. There were 900 ul missions. Including practically thc ?ntIre cudet corps. Tho crowd was, of course, over whelmingly Clemson in sentiment.
