Kirkland, who was elected by the last conference edi tor of. the Southern Christies Advo cate, the official organ of the South Carolina Conference Of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, arrived in the city yesterday and spent the greater part of the day getting acquainted with the people of the city.' The members of Mr. Kirkland's family were ex pected last night, sud for the present they will be located at.Mrs. Adams' on South Main street.
