The 4th was celebrated here by a large crowd of people. They had quite a supply (if barbecued meats, such as beef, mutton, pork and chickens-a great deal more than was eat-but breadstuff was scarce. The heat was intonse, but there& was plenty of ice cold leunonade t quneh the thirst, The health of this place is very good at present, notwit.lstauding the extreme dry weather of several weeks.
