Business laaws In Daily Use. The following compilation of business law contains the essence of a large amount of legal verbi age: If a note is lost or stolen it does not release the maker; he must pay it, if the consideration for which it was given and the amount can be proven. Notes bear interest only when so Stated. . Principals are responsible for the acts of their agents. Each individual in a partner ship is responsible for the whole amount of the debts of the firm, ex Cept in cases of special partner ship. Ignorance of the law excuses no one. The law compels no One to do impossibilities. An agreement without a consid eration is void. Contracts made on Sunday can not be eiforce(d. A note by a minor is void. A contract made by a minor is void. A eontract made with a lunatic is void. A. note obtained by frauid. or from a person in a state of inutoxi cation, cannot; be (oll(ected. It is a fr'1aud to conceal a fraud1. Signatures ilade with a lead pencil are good in law. A receipt for 1moley is 1ot a1 wvays concllusive. The acts (.W oe mtiier bini the rest. The payee- should be distinctly named in the note, unless it is pay able to bearer. An endoraee has a right of ac tion against all whose iames were on the bill when he received it. The loss of a bill or note is not sufficient excuse for not giving no tice of protest. If two or more persons as part ners are jointly liable on a note or bill, due notice to one of them is sufficient. If a note or bill Is transferred as security, or even as payment of a pre-existing debt, the debt revives if the bill or note be dishonored. An endorsement may be written on the face or back. An endorser nay prevent his own liability to be stied by writing "without recourse," or similar words. All claims which do not rest up on a seal or1 judgenient must be suied wihhin 6 years from the time when they arise. Part )ayinent of a debt which has passed the time of statuor3 im itation revives the whole debt, and the claim holds good for another )eriod of' 6 years from the date of such partial payment. The verbal )romise to pay, made without conditions. is geenally hel stificient to revive a claim otherwise shut out by the law of limitat ion. F~o- Ciorouier. .- The nuinv friends of' J. A.
