Janmeq K. *Sutherland was born Feb. 16, 1811, being at the time of his death, Jan. 17, nearly ninety one years old. He was a quiet and highly respected citizen. For the past eight years he has been paralyzed and could only travel by aid of crutches and very little with them. Though crippled and feeble in the body his mind as clear as a man in the prime of life, He spent a great deal of his time reading, until about a year Igo his oyosight failed himi, this was a severe loss, but lie bore it xvith the greatest patience, and flung to his old home, refusing to ive with any of his children or re atives.
